“Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may again touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey-castle sequence of bumpings-into and tumblings-apart.” Salman Rushdie, The Ground Beneath Her Feet
It’s one of those weeks, in which life demands prioritizing tasks and social freedoms. Freelance projects are increasing. Tasks to achieve the dream job of owning my own beauty company is rightfully becoming demanding. I’m socializing less and doing more work. The goal of working out at least three to four days a week and going to bed earlier demanded a new life rule: computers off at 9 p.m. Such a rule severely limits time on the computer. It means I have to be smart about my time. Pixel screens are time consuming rabbit holes. The time restriction helps reconnect into reality. With a cup of lavender tea in my hand, I’m going to enjoy curling up next to the boyfriend at night and getting a full night’s rest.
Kale, Turkey and Red Kidney Bean Soup
Hazelnut, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
Greek Salad and/or Asian Salad
These are very busy days. I’m working and going to the gym immediately after wards, for it’s too late to cook or eat a heavy meal. I’ll introduce creative salads and meals made in 15 minutes in the coming weeks.
