Since Bed-Vyne Wine opened, I’ve enjoyed many of their social events. They’ve been in business for a few years starting with their first event, a Thanksgiving Wine and Food tasting in 2011 and a recent House of Mandela Wine Signing. Their events continue to expand, and on May 17, 2014, they organized The Judgement of Brooklyn at One Hanson Place.
Adapted from the original “Judgement of Paris ’76 Tasting,” the event blends together the food and beverage scene of Brooklyn in one night. A portion of the funds also benefited God’s Love We Deliver, a non-profit organization delivering nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Vendors came from as far away as France as we cheered for our own from Brooklyn. In the end, the winner for the best wine was Tensley from California, and the award for the best beer went to Brooklyn’s own Sixpoint Brewery.
