Pretzel Peanut Butter Chicken Strips

Pretzel Peanut Butter Chicken Strips with a savory peanut butter sauce
The Peanut Butter & Co. asked MyLifeRunsOnFood.com to join their All-Star Recipe Blog to create five unique recipes using their different flavors of peanut butter. Who could resist the challenge? I’ve waxed poetic about peanut butter before, especially peanut butter and chocolate candies, and a guest post was written for She’s So New York about the aphrodisiac affects of peanuts. Then there’s the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sandwich Cookies made last fall. A favorite summer meal is Spring Shrimp Rolls with Peanut Sauce served with a Pineapple Tomato Salad.

Peanut Butter and Salted Pretzels

The challenging part of the assignment was to create a couple savory recipes for dinner and as a snack. Inspiration for the recipes came from Africa, Caribbean, Southeast Asian, and Latin American Cuisines—tropical regions known for using peanuts in their meals. However, let’s not forget the beauty of the various uses of the peanut butter and peanuts was explored and experimented by George Washington Carver, a historical inspiration to the development of these recipes. Over the next few months, The Peanut Butter & Co. features five recipes developed in my kitchen. These recipes are sweet, savory, buttery, green and healthy. They’re also peanut buttery rich. Visit the Peanut Butter & Co.’s All Star Food Blog to get the recipe.

What a creative idea. I love this and so long as you’re not allergic to peanuts who wouldn’t like it. It’s got lots of protein yet is like a snack.

Thanks for sharing this. I can’t wait to try it.
