#SmoothieNumbers 28: Pineapple Carrot Guava

Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 oz. frozen chunks of pineapple
  • 1/3 cup fresh grated carrots
  • 1-1/2 cup guava juice, more or less depending on the spend of your blender
  • 2 tsp. ground flax seeds
  • 1 tsp. honey, adjust amount to personal taste

Directions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  2. Enjoy.

    Hi, Kendra! Thanks for your question. Flax seeds are always optional in the smoothies. As for the health benefits, according to BerkeleyWellness.com, “Flaxseed supplies an essential fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which may contribute to a wide range of health benefits including cell membrane health, the production of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins, and cardio-protective abilities. …”

    This looks epic… Question though, why the flax seeds? Is it for health benefits or because it’s important to the recipe?
